The shrine was beautifully built using Makrana stone and Chhitar sandstone by Maharaja Vijay Singh in 1847 AD in memory of his son, Sher Singh, who died young. Next, stop at Toorji Ka Jhalra (Toorji’s Step Well), built in the 1740s by Maharaja Abhaya Singh’s Queen. Marvel at over 200 feet of hand-carved treasures that were submerged for nearly a century, before being recently restored. Spot intricate carvings of dancing elephants, medieval lions, and cows. Then, head to Mehrangarh Fort, one of Jodhpur's main attractions, including the Sheesh Mahal mirror palace, the Phool Mahal flower palace, and the Moti Mahal pearl palace, showcasing the rich history and cultural heritage of Jodphur. Explore the fort with your guide for 2 hours. Next, visit Pachetia Hill for the best viewpoint of Old City and Blue City, especially during sunrise and sunset.
